Sharkord
IntroductionInstallation

macOS

Install and run the Sharkord server on macOS, including getting past Gatekeeper.

Lightly tested

Sharkord is developed and tested mainly on Linux. The macOS build is published for Apple Silicon only and gets far less testing than Linux or Docker.

Download the Apple Silicon binary and run it:

curl -L https://github.com/Sharkord/sharkord/releases/latest/download/sharkord-macos-arm64 -o sharkord
chmod +x sharkord
./sharkord

Then open http://localhost:4991 in your browser.

The binary is not notarized, so Gatekeeper blocks the first run. Either allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security after the warning appears, or clear the quarantine flag yourself:

xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ./sharkord

Sharkord stores its data in ~/Library/Application Support/sharkord. See Data Directory.

On Intel Macs, use Docker instead.

Next Steps

Set up HTTPS. Without it, browsers block the microphone, webcam, and screen sharing.
